Hakodate guest house is a unique blend of traditional Japanese décor and western facilities. This 80 year old home is situated close to the Hakodate station, shops, fishing harbour and Goryoukaku Park makes for the perfect and affordable weekend get away.
The guest house was opened by the owner, Chika in 2009. It has proven very popular amongst travelling Japanese cycle enthusiasts as a place to stay a few days on their trip around Hokkaido. It is now frequently used by western backpackers as dormitory (6 tatami mat size), individual or couple rooms (4-6 tatami mat size) or a family room (10 tatami mat size) by travellers visiting Hakodate Mountains, Fort Goryoukaku, Onsen (Hot Spring) sightseeing or just for some Fishing and Surfing. Hakodate guest house has easy access by train, bike or car. You can also ring ahead and arrange for Chika to pick you up from the station on arrival.
Chika, born and raised in Hakodate provides friendly and personalised accommodation at low rates with an abundace of travel advice for getting around town. You can also book private transportation through Hakodate guest house at an affordable rate, to take you up the mountains or just a tour around town. Hakodate guest house is also known as “Willoughby rider” with many locals and Japanese cycle enthusiast, the house is decorated in motorcycle paraphernalia giving a unique and fun experience to all who visit. The name Willoughby refers to a suburb of Sydney, Australia where Chika lived whilst travelling himself.
